Meridian's Sizzler restaurant to shut down amid rising operational costs

MERIDIAN, Idaho (CBS2) — The Sizzler Restaurant in Meridian has announced it will close its doors for good on Sept. 24.

Local owners Gretchen and Buster have owned and operated the Sizzler for 17 years. They say the current labor costs, shortages, food prices and supply chain issues have led to this decision.

The restaurant joins a growing trend of businesses facing a demanding landscape, which includes labor costs that have nearly doubled over the last few years for several industries.

Sizzler in Meridian closes on Sept. 24. The next closest Sizzler is in Twin Falls.
